Announcing "Our Voices, Our Vision,"

an art and songwriting contest and exhibition

We want to help children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum share the awesome spectrum of their creativity. Contest will offer recognition for everybody, cash prizes for winners! Plus, the winning song will be professionally recorded, and winning artwork will be part of a NYC exhibit.

Five years ago, SingSOS! put out an album of songs featuring a parent's view of autism. Now it's time for the spectrum's point of view. Starting soon, we will be accepting submissions of artworks and songs of images. All entries will be exhibited online. On World Autism Awareness Day in April 2015 we will announce prize winners and unveil a PSA that features music and imagery from contest entries -- truly sharing "Our Voices, Our Visions."

We also welcome entries from parents, siblings, friends, relatives and teachers, but prizes will be reserved for those who self-identify as ASD. Our current roster of music judges includes Marshall Crenshaw, Aaron Weiss (of mewithoutYou), Don Dixon, Marti Jones and Ari Hest; art judges so far include Rosa Martinez and Margaret Mikkelson, with more of both to come!

Prizes will include:

Winning song -- $500 and professionally produced recording

Winning artwork -- $500 and NYC exhibition

Runners up -- $250; plus, other prizes to be announced ...

Here's how YOU can participate or help:

* Submit a song using our Soundcloud account or artwork through Flickr.

* Click here for Contest Rules & Instructions

* Spread the word and encourage people you know with a link to autism to participate, whether they're on the spectrum or a relative, teacher or friend of someone who is.

* We'll be using Kickstarter to raise what we need to give meaningful prizes. We'll let you know when it's up!

Click on the Listen button above to download the SingSOS! album or hear selections recorded by Jackson Browne, Dar Williams, Marshall Crenshaw, Jonatha Brooke and many others.

It's "Our Vision, Our Voices"!

We're putting the pieces in place to launch a context and exhibition showcasing the musical and artistic talents of the autism community. More to come soon!
